Eko Hospital Limited, a member of Ekocorp Plc, was itself a successor to Mercy Specialist Clinic, which had operated successfully between 1977 and 1982. the practice has been growing in bounds due to the total commitment and dedication of the partners and staff and the high level of reputation and customer goodwill 
enjoyed. With a four storey (40 bed capacity clinic situated at Ebute-Meta, Lagos in 1977, the company has grown into a multi-service and multi-location hospital with operations in Ikeja, Ikoyi, Central Lagos, Surulere, etc. to cover the entire Lagos area.

The EKOCORP PLC, an acronym of the first letters of the founder’s surnames in alphabetical order i.e. “E” for ENELI, (Dr. A.C Eneli, deceased), “K” for KUKU (Dr. S.F. Kuku) and “O” for OBIORA (Mr. A.A.A Obiora) is a successor to Eko Hospital limited established in 1982 as a Joint Medical Practice patterned after both a teaching hospital as a Medical Center.

The Hospital has grown in leaps and bounds within twenty-five years. Today’s, there are two full-fledged hospitals located at Ikeja & Surulere in Lagos. The ikeja facility is a private teaching hospital of 130 beds and state of the art equipment. It is a tertiary institution with a wide range of therapeutic and diagnostic equipments. The Surulere hospital is a 40 bed Secondary healthcare facility. A third hospital is currently under construction at the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. A diagnostic centre and Clinic is operational in Ikoyi of Lagos.

We are recruiting to fill the position of:

Job Title: IT Technician
Location: Lagos
Job Objectives
IT technical support officers, monitor and maintain the computer systems and networks of an organization. They may install and configure computer systems, diagnose hardware/software faults and solve technical and applications problems, either over the phone or in person. Depending on the size of the organization, a technical support officer's role may span one or more areas of expertise.
Education / Qualifications:
  • Minimum of OND / HND
  • Post secondary school education, relating to IT and any other IT/network related qualifications or training are also desirable. 
Skill Requirements:
  • Experience in providing IT support, ideally in a helpdesk environment
  • Technical knowledge of Microsoft Windows on both desktop and server
  • Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal
  • Able to work on own and under pressure
  • Self-motivated Good time management and priority handling
  • Previous experience of working in a customer facing environment
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve problems
  • Initiative to find answers to new questions
  • Professional working attitude
  • Driving license and own business-insured transport for site visits
  • Experience of working from home  
Experience in the following would be highly advantageous:
  • Desktop Windows XP, Vista & Windows 7
  • Microsoft Office 2003 - 2010 for Windows
  • MacOS X 10.7

Typical Work Activities

IT technical support officers are mainly responsible for the smooth running of computer systems and ensuring users get maximum benefits from them. Individual tasks vary depending on the size and structure of the organization, but may include: 
  • Installing and configuring computer hardware operating systems and applications
  • Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks;
  • Talking staff/clients through a series of actions, either face to face or over the telephone to help set up systems or resolve issues;
  • Troubleshooting system and network problems and diagnosing and solving hardware/software faults;
  • Replacing parts as required; 
  • Providing support, including procedural documentation and relevant reports;
  • Following diagrams and written instructions to repair a fault or set up a system;
  • Supporting the roll-out of new applications;
  • Setting up new users' accounts and profiles and dealing with password issues;
  • Responding within agreed time limits to call-outs;
  • Working continuously on a task until completion (or referral to third parties, if appropriate);
  • Prioritizing and managing many open cases at one time;
  • Rapidly establishing a good working relationship with customers and other professionals, e.g., software developers;
  • Testing and evaluating new technology;
  • Conducting electrical safety checks on computer equipment.
Job Title: Information Technology Manager

Location:

Purpose of Position
The Information Technology Manager is responsible for installing and maintaining computer hardware, software and networks.

Scope 

  • The Information Technology Manager reports to the Senior Administrative Officer and manages and provides hardware and software maintenance, training and consultation, and recommendations about future planning and development of resources.
  • Providing these services in an effective and efficient manner will ensure maximum access to and implementation of technology services and resources.
Responsibilities

Manage information technology and computer systems
  • Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the operations of information systems and electronic dataprocessing (EDP)
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for electronic data processing and computer systems operations and development
  • Meet with managers to discuss system requirements, specifications, costs and timelines
  • Hire and manage information systems personnel and contract or to design, develop, implement, operate and administer computer and telecommunications software, networks and information systems
  • Control the computer systems budgets and expenditures
Ensure technology is accessible and equipped with current hardware and software

Main Activities
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software and network operating system
  • Be familiar with all hardware and software
  • Be familiar with network operating system
  • Provide orientation to new users of existing technology
  • Train staff about potential uses of existing technology
  • Train staff about new and potential use
  • Provide individual training and support on request

Main Activities
  • Troubleshoot all technology issues
  • Maintain log and/or list of required repairs and maintenance
  • Make recommendations about purchase of technology resources
  • Research current and potential resources and services
  • Provide network access to all staff and students
  • Install work stations 
  • Connect and set up hardware
  • Load all required software
  • Provide network accounts and passwords as required
  • Monitor security of all technology
  • Install and maintain Foolproof and passwords
  • Input and maintain IP addresses
  • Advise staff of security breach and/or change in password or security status
  • Ensure installation of lock out programs
  • Identify and prepare hardware for disposal when appropriate
  • Ensure hardware is stripped and secured before disposal
  • Perform other related duties as required during working hours
